NBA playoffs betting, lines, odds: Minnesota Timberwolves win first playoff series as favorite since 2004

The 2025 NBA playoffs are in the thick of things with the Indiana Pacers becoming the first team to advance to a conference finals, after dispatching the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games.

The Thunder (-135) are now the odds-on title favorites at BetMGM, followed by the New York Knicks (+500). The Knicks are still in control of their series against the Boston Celtics, up 3-2 and Celtics star Jayson Tatum is out for the playoffs with a ruptured Achilles.

The Minnesota Timberwolves just dispatched the Golden State Warriors in five games, winning a playoff series they were favored in for the first time since the Kevin Garnett days back in 2004.

Whereas public betting may waver at times during the NBA season because of all the injuries and load management, the playoffs are a big betting event, Thomas Gable, sportsbook director at the Borgata in Atlantic City — a BetMGM book — told Yahoo Sports.

“From a betting perspective, the handle is very good,” Gable said. “The NBA suffers from the way that they handle the day-to-day season with players resting, and I think a lot of the recreational players have phased out of the NBA because of that. But the playoffs are a totally different story.”

Here are the updated series prices for the 2025 NBA playoffs from BetMGM:
