The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees will meet for the third night in a row on Sunday Night Baseball for a decisive game three at Yankee Stadium. New York took game one of the series on Friday night while Boston bounced back on Saturday for an impressive road win.

The Yankees remain first in the AL East despite Saturday night’s setback, with a 39-24 record and a 21-11 record at home. Boston, on the other hand, has struggled this season, boasting a 31-35 record to sit second-to-last in the AL East ahead of only the 26-37 Baltimore Orioles. Considering the Red Sox entered this season with some expectations to have a bounce-back campaign, this season has been disappointing for Boston overall. Perhaps a road series win might help alleviate the tension and put the Red Sox back on track.

In game one of the matchup, the Yankees won 9-6 behind a three-for-five performance from Aaron Judge with one RBI. Jazz Chisholm Jr. also went three-for-five, though Chisholm had one home run and four RBIs, making him New York’s MVP for the evening.

In game two, however, the Red Sox bounced back in a big way, winning 10-7 in what was an exciting and high-scoring affair. First baseman Romy Gonzalez led the way for Boston with three hits in four at-bats, with one home run and two RBIs. Star shortstop Trevor Story also had a big game, going three-for-five with five RBIs in the contest.
