Chappell Roan Ditches Auburn Hair in Boldest Transformation Ever

Chappell Roan is literally unrecognizable thanks to her latest hair transformation. Although Roan is known for transforming thanks to her killer drag makeup and elaborate outfits, she rarely switches things up in the hair department. The “Good Luck, Babe!” singer almost always rocks her natural long red curls, aside from a few bleach blonde wig moments—and those have always been for specific performance looks. However, in a couple of new selfies posted on Roan’s Instagram, it appears that she has ditched her signature auburn locks in favor of a new orange strawberry blonde straight ‘do.

In the first image, Roan stood in an elevator wearing a plaid shawl and oversized sunglasses, holding a coffee cup. Her orange-blonde hair was straight and styled in a center part. In the next blurry snap, Roan appeared to be in a car, while her straight blonde hair fell across her face.

“Will the girl who I just met at the perfume store please comment the perfume you recommended I wrote it down and just deleted it on accident,” she wrote in the caption. “The world ‘girl’ was in the brand name & you said it smelled like lipstick. Thank you.” According to sleuths in the comments, the perfume in question was Good Girl by Caroline Herrera.

It’s unclear whether Roan actually dyed and straightened her hair or she was simply wearing a stealthy incognito wig in the images. After all, Roan has been open in the past about how much she prizes her privacy. “I chose this career path because I love music and art and honoring my inner child,” she wrote on Instagram in an August 2024 viral post. “I do not accept harassment of any kind because I chose this path, nor do I deserve it.”

The singer even managed to keep her relationship a secret for six whole months.

Roan’s last public appearance was at the 2025 Met Gala where she rocked a ’70s-style sparkly pink suit along with her signature voluminous red curls.
