Twinless, the comedic drama starring Dylan O’Brien and James Sweeney, which had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival this past January, has found distribution and a fall release date. The film follows O’Brien and Sweeney as two friends who form an unlikely bond after meeting in a twin bereavement support group. The film was a huge hit when it premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, winning the much-coveted Audience Award and O’Brien winning Best Performance for his duel role as twin brothers. Twinless also received rave reviews at Sundance, with the film currently standing at 95 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and a current average of 8.3/10 on IMDB.
James Sweeney wrote, directed, and produced the film. It also stars Aisling Franciosi, Lauren Graham, Tasha Smith, Chris Perfetti, François Arnaud, Susan Park and Cree Cicchino. O’Brien and Mikey Lee serve as the film’s executive producers, along with Ali Jazayeri, David Gendron, and Liz Destro. Alex Astrachan, through Permut Presentations, serves as the movie’s co-producer. The film was financed through Three Point Capital.
Roadside Attractions and Lionsgate will distribute Twinless in the U.S., while Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions will handle the film’s international distribution. It will be released on September 5th.
