Dana White the CEO of the UFC has confirmed some upcoming fights for the company. The company has just completed another edition of their Fight Night event. Named UFC Fight Night: Machado Garry vs Prates, the event took place on April 26, 2025.
The event resulted in Ian Machado Garry end the undefeated streak of Carlos Prates. Moreover, Anthony Smith also fought his last match and lost to Zhang Mingyang, following which he retired. During the post-fight conference, Dana White has confirmed several upcoming fights in the company (via TheMacLife on YouTube). However, which fights did he talk about during the conference. Dana White claims Du Plessis vs. Chimaev is done, just not for International Fight Week!
Dana White has confirmed the fight between Dricus du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev during his post-fight conference. When he was asked about the fight, he revealed that the fight’s happening and it’s confirmed. However, he revealed that the fight is not happening in International Fight Week. This fight has been confirmed after Dricus Du Plessis denied any rumors about a broken shin and being sidelined for six months.
Only a “We’ll See” for Islam Makhachev vs. Ilia Topuria
Dana White did not give a clear cut response about the fight between Islam Makhachev and Ilia Topuria. When he asked about the fight between these two fighters, he just responded that they will see how it plays out..This suggests a possibility of the fight happening at some point in the future, although Dana White is yet to confirm it.
UFC President super confident that Jones vs. Aspinall fight is going to happen!
Dana White has seemed to be the most confident about Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall fight out of the three. He was asked about the rumors surrounding the fight. However, he urged the reporters not to believe in any rumors until it comes from the UFC. Dana White further revealed that he has said it many times that Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall is one of the fights that they have planned for 2025. He is super confident that it happens.
The UFC is looking forward towards their next Fight Night event. It is named UFC Fight Night: Sandhagen vs Figueiredo on May 3, 2022 as per their official site. Dana White might mention some other fights in the meantime. He might even make Ilia Topuria vs Islam Makhachev fight a reality.
